I didn’t notice exactly when this happened, but it’s something I’m pretty pleased about!
Ratings and reviews on Goodreads is an easy and accessible way for readers to share their thoughts about books, and for a writer it’s really useful as a gauge for how your writing’s going down.
Generally speaking, I’m really pleased with how this has gone over the last few years. An average of other four is really healthy. Sure, some books don’t always strike with the masses, and sometimes they’re not a good fit for certain readers. Sometimes they just don’t take off at all, even though they feel as solid as anything you’ve put out. But over time it balances out, and I’m proud of the fact that, 1500+ ratings in, I’m a consistent enough author for readers to put their trust in me and what I’m releasing. That’s very important to me as a writer.
Now on with the next project: those fabulous readers are waiting!
